31 Days of Gratitude
Join me as I celebrate all I have to be thankful for during the month of October.
Why October instead of November? One more day!
Enjoy and be blessed.
The only reason I delayed cultivating roses was the aphids. I saw my mother struggle with them and I wasn’t feeling like it was something I could do. However, when I dug out that rose bed after a particularly heated discussion with my husband I had a major change of heart.
My love for this flower grew immediately. I didn’t give a rat’s butt about aphids. At first I battled the aphids with chemicals to no avail. It wasn’t until I found a more holistic approach, lemon juice, that I conquered aphids.
Once you get past the bugs and whatnot, it’s the beauty that floors me. It sets the tone in my backyard. It’s a place for beauty to rule the day. Roses come in so many different forms, colors and color combos that I hope someday to have at least one of each. How many different varieties are there? Likely hundreds, if my Pinterest board is any indication.
Long story short, a rose is still a rose by any other name. I’m so grateful for its beauty and utter perfection.
