Day 23: Coffee roasters

31 Days of Gratitude
Join me as I celebrate all I have to be thankful for during the month of October.
Why October instead of November? One more day!
Enjoy and be blessed.

I am so blessed to know people who roast and sell their own coffee. For years I thought I liked French Roast or super dark coffee because my husband liked it and there wasn’t a Starbucks yet. The most I knew about coffee was the Majordomo coffee services that provided employers tons of super-bland coffee. There was just about no difference between instant and brewed.

My coffee-roasting friends, who started Devout Coffee, offered mild and medium roast coffee. First it was the smell. Oh my god those bags of whole bean coffee smelled divine. I couldn’t wait to get home, grind and press. Suddenly, I couldn’t stomach French Roast any longer.

My coffee roasting buddies introduced me to Sumatra and Kenyan coffees that were infused with flavorful notes. I began to taste the difference between decaf and caffeinated coffees and I didn’t want decaf any longer.

I love my monthly bag of random-flavored, roasted coffee from Worth Coffee Roasters. First thing I do is put my nose against the bag, squeeze and inhale. Coffee nirvana.
