Day 15: Friends who pray

Day 15: Friends who pray

31 Days of God-related attitude

“The effective, fervent prayers of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.”
–James 5:16, NKJV/NLT

I started a prayer list on Facebook a few years ago by adding Facebook friends from church. This list is for believers only. We don’t argue doctrine or any other tenets of faith. I started it after the choir director stopped taking prayer requests during Christmas play rehearsals. I was used to being able to share requests with the choir and was suffering from withdrawal when, for some weird reason, it stopped for this play.

The list has grown and so has the number of prayer requests. It is a vibrant list where people are asked to give us updates so we know the fruit of our prayer. If you ever want to know whether God hears and answers prayer just scroll down and read the updates.

Naturally, I have put in requests but I also have commented and posted prayers for specific needs. After talking with those who never post requests I now realize the list has prayer warriors. They read and pray without a need to post. They know they can anytime but this is their preference.

What I also know firsthand is that without their prayers, comfort and support I would feel lost without that list. It keeps me connected to the body of Christ and it is a major blessing. I have a cache of prayer warriors and for that I am truly grateful.
