Day 3: Celebrate

Day 3: Celebrate

31 Days of Intimacy with my Savior

The Lord your God wins victory after victory and is always with you. He celebrates and sings because of you,  and he will refresh your life with his love.
—Zephaniah 3:17 (CEV)

My Jesus loves to party. Yep! I said it. Just look at all the feasts in the Old Testament and references to a wedding in the New Testament.

Jewish wedding celebrations lasted anywhere from three days to a week. Jesus’ first miracle was turning water to wine at, say it with me, a wedding!

By “party” I mean …
There are seven “feasts” in the Bible. You could substitute “party” for “feast” and voila! However, party in this context is celebration. It’s not all drugs, alcohol and what we think of as a party today. Yes, there was wine and the first alcoholic in the Bible was Noah. That’s not what I’m talking about.

What is the throne room anyway? It’s one big, fat party celebrating Jesus. Somewhere in the throne room is a massive chorus and a full orchestra belting out sounds we’ve never heard before and singing songs we have yet to sing. It’s a party up there and I want to join in when it’s my turn.

Fortunately, I don’t have to wait until I get to heaven. I’m talking about what happens when two or more are gathered in His name right here on earth. He is here hanging out with us. When He joins in any number of emotions come up.

When my Spirit-filled friends get together many get drunk in the Holy Spirit, which has happened to me. I slur words, I can’t stop laughing,  jokes are hilariously awesome, tears come because we’re laughing so hard and hearts are sewn ever closer together.

Many times we break out in praise and worship our best friend for all that He has done for us. Some people dance, others dance with beautiful flags, others paint while still more sing in the Spirit.

In return, He is closer to us than a brother. He hears our cries and pleas for help. He celebrates with us and protects these sacred gatherings. The hardest part is when the party ends and we have to go our separate ways home.

Treasure Hunts
The best part is we gather again soon, sometimes three times a week or more where some play games and go on treasure hunts.

A treasure hunt is when we ask Jesus a few questions to try to find clues as to who He wants us to meet and bless. When we find those persons we get electrocuted with His presence, which means suddenly we have the power to prophesy, heal and break down strongholds through prayer.

When we finish our treasure hunt, we’re drunk in the Spirit again. We are amazed, awe struck, moved and can’t wait to do it all again.

He celebrates whenever someone agrees to accept His precious gift and so do we. Sometimes we cry or express wholehearted gratitude.

So yeah, Jesus loves to party
Celebration is Who He is. I’m so glad I get to do it with this guy named Jesus, who happens to be hot and artistic too! How cool is that?
