Day 31: Ultimate Yes (and Amen)

Day 31: Ultimate Yes (and Amen)

31 Days of Intimacy with my Savior
… and now for the vowels

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him, Amen, to the glory of God through us.
—2 Corinthians 1:20

Bill Johnson once stated that if I wasn’t sure about a thing and I was in relationship with Jesus, assume the answer is “Yes” unless He specifically says otherwise. As soon as he said it, I immediately was reminded that where the Spirit of The Lord is there is freedom, liberty. There is freedom to make mistakes and freedom to succeed.

When I started this blog in 2011, I was afraid I was wasting my time. No one would read what I had to say. Why bother? All I did was start ranting about how screwed up my life circumstances were. I didn’t care if Jesus approved it.

I was mad as hell and not gonna take it any more. He never said I couldn’t publish what I did. In fact, if you go back to my first year of posts, I was very angry, resentful and beside myself with rage.

Now I see He knew I needed to get all that crap off my chest. He felt it necessary I write what I did because so many were in the same boat.

Today, as Jesus is napping inside my boat while the storm rages outside, I have opted to lay next to Him. All I feel is safe, warm and content. Let the world go about its business while Jesus and I go about ours.

How much more … ?
He promised He never would forget or abandon me. He asked, “How much more …?”

  • How much more will He hold my heart before Him?
  • How much more does He give good things to me who asks Him?
  • How much more will He give the Holy Spirit to me who asks Him?
  • How much more does He value me than the birds?
  • How much more does He clothe me?
  • How much more does He fill me with an abundance of His presence, power, agency, riches?
  • How much more does He graft me into the cultivated olive trees set aside for the Israelites?
  • How much more does His blood cleanse mefrom dead works to serve the One True Living God?

He is the ultimate Yes and Amen. He has given us permission to share Him with others in a way that is redemptive not condemning. He won me over with His perfect love. All I had to say was “Yes!” He did the rest.

He unleashed His promises and now I’m living them. His blood seals me in Him because He said, “Yes and let it be so.”

To you I say, let Him in. Find out what His yes and amen really mean. There is no fear in His love only power, love and grace. Let Him love you! Just say, “Yes!”

Amen.
